Dan McEntee – Founder and Principal
Dan McEntee founded Monta Vista Finance in 2009 to provide a broad range of services to technology companies in need of seasoned financial expertise. Dan is uniquely qualified in the technology industry financial arena. During his career as a Silicon Valley CFO in public and private companies, he managed issues as diverse as SEC reporting, venture financing, acquisitions, software revenue recognition, and bankruptcy proceedings. Adept at relationship building in challenging situations, he brings clarity, integrity, and key industry insights to each client. Dan has extensive experience with cultures around the globe and has managed teams and partner relationships in India, China, Japan, Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East. Dan’s career includes serving as CFO at Narus and InnoPath Software, both late-stage, venture capital-backed companies providing infrastructure software to international telecom enterprises. In each of these companies, he managed revenue growth, closed rounds of venture financing, negotiated credit agreements, built quality financial teams, and implemented software revenue recognition processes. Dan was also CFO for Globalstar where he oversaw one of the highest profile telecom chapter 11 cases of the last decade, culminating in the retirement of $3.4 billion in liabilities. Dan served the company for 13 years and was also instrumental in the formation of the company and Globalstar’s IPO. Dan earned a B.S. in Business Administration from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo and an MBA from the U.C. Berkeley Haas School of Business. He is accredited with the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts (NACVA). |
